Cyanotype

The cyanotype shows the artists point of view on real things in life. She shows the nature of things in her cyanotype with different colors. The fact that she used an actual object for her cyanotype doesn't make a difference because it just shows how real the cyanotype is. The cyanotype shouldn't effected her audience because of the beauty of the colors just make the images stand out. A modern photograph would be able to achieve all those limitations, might not be exactly the same because you wouldn't be able to see as much details. If you could edit the picture in a program I am positive you could get the same picture. The formal qualities of the image does not give unwanted aesthetic resonance to the image. It makes the image that much better showing the details and colors that she wanted the photograph to look like, it just almost looks real.

Anna Atkins Cyanotype

1. This image is a picture of algae. The paper is blue and the algae is white with different shades of blue, it was made in 1843.
2. Anna Atkins' intentions were to show the imprints of the algae on that piece of paper using the light available to her. She had to place the algae directly on the the cyanotype paper
3 This image gives me a sense of nature and the water. I love how to algae gave it different tones of blue and how each algae is placed.
4. I love this picture because of the way she did it. She used simple things to make this image, and I think it turned out great.
